Pat Ierardi Obituary

Pasquale A. Ierardi, (Pat) a 57 year resident of Darien passed away at Stamford Hospital on November 2, 2007. Pat was born March 3, 1921 in New Haven, CT, the eldest son of the late Placido and Vincenza Casella Ierardi.


As a young man, Pat delivered prescriptions on roller skates and worked the soda fountain at his father’s Roger Sherman Pharmacy in New Haven. In 1942, he earned a BS in Pharmacy, University of Connecticut, where he was member of Kappa Psi Pharmacy Fraternity. Pat was associated with many local pharmacies for over 45 years, including, Thorne’s and SylMay Pharmacy, Stamford and Professional Pharmacy, So. Norwalk.


Pat was an avid storyteller with a gift of laughter that he shared with all whom he encountered. He loved foreign and vintage films, opera and travel. Pat reveled in his family, friends and his wife’s wonderful cooking. He loved chocolate ice cream and made incredible Italian lemon ice. Pat was rich in the things that he could do without, and that money cannot buy. Pat is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen Ierardi, son Robert Ierardi and his wife Beryl of Charlotte, NC; daughter Karen Nash and her husband Dave of Trumbull, CT and five grandchildren, Drew, Paige, Annie Ierardi; Jackie and Amy Nash.


A calling hour will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien on November 5, 2007 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Graveside Services will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, CT Chapter, 35 Cold Spring Rd.
