Arty and I were classmates and played football together at DHS and as a result, had a lifetime bond as teammates and friends. After that, I have only the memories of his smiling face, his big paw of a hand extended to me and asking me how I am doing...each and every time we'd see each other. I am saddened by the news of his passing, but am grateful for knowing him as I did. Rest in peace old friend.

Over the years I developed a sincere trust and mutual affection that only the most fortunate of us are likely to attain with another. He was a true gentleman in this difficult business world. I think that we all found him to be smart, quiet, funny, and, above all, a loyal friend. As well, Artie and his dad helped me out when my car happened to break down on Rt. 91 very near the exit to their family home. He was gentle, honest, friendly, listened well, and had a great sense of humor. I'm very sorry for the loss of your husband, father, brother, uncle and dear friend. I met and grew to know Artie in college, where he was my fraternity brother. I think that we all found him to be smart, quiet, funny, and, above all, a loyal friend. As well, Artie and his dad helped me out when my car happened to break down on Rt. 91 very near the exit to their family home. They generously invited me into their home, where I stayed overnight, and assisted me until my car was up and running again. Arthur Lawrence Van Sciver will be greatly, greatly missed.

Jeanne and Family, we are so deeply sorry for your loss. It was our pleasure to have met Art at Kaylyn and Nic's wedding; he was so generous, kind, and welcoming to us and we will always reflect fondly on that memory. May God's love and the love of family and friends give you strength and comfort at this very sad and tragic time. Our thoughts are with you all.

Artie was " The Bait Shop" personified. How many times he was called upon to bail out one of our families boating problems and all quite compently done? I have memories, too, of his trips to BI on the boat with his family & what good times they were. He will be sorely missed by his many ,many friends and loving family? He left us much too soon? My thoughts and prayers are with you all and may God bless you and surround you with His love. Kingie Ingraham
