Carole J. Lautenbach died peacefully at her home in Rowayton, CT on Thursday, November 29. She was 67 years old. Carole fought brain cancer with grace and dignity for a year and a half. She was born in Cincinnati, OH in 1940, the daughter of Dr. Leonard and Ruth Wuest. She was educated at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Mt. St. Joseph College, and Arizona State University. Her husband of 44 years, Terry Lautenbach, predeceased her. Carole is survived by her sisters, Martha Conroy of Hinsdale, IL and Juanita Wenke of Cincinnati OH, her six daughters, Jenny Streeter of Darien, CT; Sue Bates, Julie Maxman, Martha Lautenbach, Mary Claus and Annie Stern, all of Atlanta, GA; and her fourteen grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the St. Isabel Church Rebuilding Fund, 3559 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel, Florida 33957. Funeral services will be held at St. Isabel Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 5th.
