Obituary of Roland Gallo

Roland ("Londie") Gallo, a resident of Cedar Gate, Darien since 1975 and an Army veteran, died at Stamford Hospital on Wednesday, January 26. Roland, 77, is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan Schiller Gallo, as well as by his two sons (and daughters-in-law), Keith Gallo and wife, Donna, and Bruce Gallo and wife, Joi (all residents of Darien). He is also survived by six grand-children: Serena Gallo Nelson, Jason Gallo, Joseph Gallo, Michael Gallo, Zachary Gallo, and Emilie Gallo; and by one great-grand-child: Rio Rose Nelson; by his aunt, Mary Piscuineri (of Cupertino, California); and by his brother, Ronald Gallo, and a nephew, Paul Gallo (also of California). Born in Brooklyn, NY, Roland was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Josephine Gallo, and by his oldest brother, Jules. A manufacturing executive until his retirement, Roland enjoyed "tinkering with cars and boats" with his sons and "working on ever-expanding house remodeling projects." Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 30, at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT, from 1 to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Explorer Post 53, P.
