Helen W. Jordan, a 60-year resident of Darien, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Stamford Hospital in Stamford. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Yanicky. Helen was a long time employee at Machelett Laboratories. She was a parishioner of St. John R.C. Church in Darien, a member of the Ischoda Yacht Club and loved bowling. She has a great love of designing and making crockery. Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, John W. Jordan, Darien's retired police chief. She is also survived by a brother John Yanicky of Stamford and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Agnes Gorski and two brothers, Henry Yanicky and Michael Yanicky. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R. C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. John R.C.
