Obituary of Kanga R. Price

Kanga R. Price, 67, of Norwalk, passed away at home on May 2, 2014 after battling a long illness. She was born in Stamford Hospital on May 26, 1946 to the late Prescott and Jeanne Fuller of Darien. She grew up in Darien and graduated from Darien High School. She attended Manhattanville College and Emerson University. Kanga had a passion for music and dance and taught herself how to play guitar in her teenage years. She had a beautiful voice and frequently played in the Boston Coffee houses. Between 1958 and 1966 she was a member of the Sacred Dance Group established by her mother. Kanga rose above numerous struggles in her life. She went back to school and became a drug and alcohol counselor. She worked in the field for many years and loved being able to work one on one with people. She had an extraordinary gift to connect with others and was loved by many. She was a deeply spiritual person and found the good in everyone she met. She enjoyed volunteering with animals after her retirement. Kanga met her life partner, Katherine, in 1988 and were married in 2006. They made their home in Norwalk where Kanga enjoyed gardening, playing guitar, bird watching, reading, writing poetry, swimming and their cats and dog! She is survived by her partner of 26 years, Katherine Reid; her brother David Fuller and his wife Joyce, of Simsbury, CT; her son, Jason Price and his wife Kirstin of California; her nephew Mark Fuller and his wife Star of Texas; and two beautiful grandchildren, Harper and Milo. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Animals In Distress, P.O. Box 312, Wilton, CT 06897. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
