Obituary of Barbara Szypkowski Wong

Barbara Szypkowski Wong, of Darien, CT, born in Chicago, Illinois, graduate of Indiana University, MBA from University of Chicago, is survived by her husband, Harry and her beloved dogs, Wesley and Scrappy. Before retiring, Barbara had worked for CNA Insurance, FMC and Merrill Lynch. Barbara was active in Children's Aid of Darien, having served as Co-Chair of the charity and its major fund raising event, the annual Children's Aid Tag Sale. Barbara and Harry relocated from Chicago to Darien from Chicago in Christmas of 1993. Barbara was an avid runner, participating in the Darien Road Race, gardener, planting a variety of flowers so that the garden was in full bloom from spring to fall, and of course, made many of her friends through dog walking. Barbara was also a member of the Ladies Golf Association of the Saint Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Memorial service will be held at Talmadge Hill Church, Talmadge Hill Road and Hollow Tree Ridge Road, Darien on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Barbara Wong to Paws, 504 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851 from which she found her beloved Wesley the Westie.
