Obituary of Marjorie Eleanor McGoldrick

Marjorie Eleanor McGoldrick of Darien died on Friday, July 18 at the age of 90. The daughter of Jeannette and David Kunkel, she was born in Bay City, Michigan on November 21, 1923. She grew up in Muskegon, Michigan and moved to New York to attend Manhattanville College and The Juilliard School of Music. Following her marriage, she lived with her family in Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and England, as well as Manhattan, and moved to Darien in 1969. She was a member of the Darien Community Association and Tokeneke Club, discovered golf at Silvermine Golf Club, gardened and battled deer. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, and her brother, Col. David E. Kunkel, Jr. She is survived by her four children, Ellen McGoldrick of Manhattan, David McGoldrick and his wife, Terrill, of Norwalk, Marguerite McGoldrick de Jonge and her husband, William, of Manhattan, and Melanie McGoldrick Majeski and her husband, Robert, of Stratford, and four grandchildren, Emily, David, and Griff McGoldrick and Henrietta de Jonge. Marjorie's family will receive friends at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien on Thursday, July 24 from 5 to 8 pm.
