Obituary of Lorraine Jean McGettigan

Lorraine Jean McGettigan of New Canaan, CT and Delray Beach, FL passed away on April 29, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edward Thomas McGettigan, founding partner, President and Chief Executive Officer of American Transit Insurance Company in New York. Lorraine is the beloved mother of James (wife Linda), Edward (deceased, wife Cathy), Susan Carroll (husband Richard) and Joan McGettigan and beloved grandmother of Molly Cole (husband William), Fisher McGettigan, James McGettigan, Avery McGettigan and Brady McGettigan. Friends may call at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien, CT on Friday, May 5th from 5 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthews R.C. Church, Norwalk, Saturday, May 6th at 9 am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be sent to Catholic Academy of Bridgeport, 63 Pequonnock Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604, attention: Sr. Joan Magnetti.
