Margaret L. Love, 88, of Redding, formerly of Hilton Head, SC and Darien, CT, and an eternal New Yorker, died May 3, 2017. Peggy attended Dominican Academy in Manhattan and Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT. Immediately following college graduation, she married Dick Love. His work took him to many companies and the family to many states. They lived in Douglaston, NY; East Norwich, NY; Fairfield, CT; Livingston, NJ; Winwood, PA, Livingston, NJ (again); Palatine, IL; Upper St. Clair, PA; and Deerfield, IL. They moved to Darien, CT in 1969 where they stayed until Dick's retirement; upon retirement, they made Hilton Head, SC, their home. After Dick's death, Peggy returned to Connecticut to be close to her children. She was an avid golfer and active member of the Darien Community Association and the Art League of Hilton Head. Peggy was a fiber artist, a passion which began in the 1960s. In 1969, she created her first abstract work titled "Hope" for a juried show. When ask by one of her children about the title, she said "she hoped she win a prize"; she won first place. Through her career, Peggy's work was displayed in juried shows in the US and Japan. In 1994, she stated, "I find great pleasure in expressing my ideas in thread and stitches. My work is sometimes realistic but more often it is an abstraction either in a time or a place. I especially enjoy using color and texture to describe a feeling or emotion." She was predeceased by her husband, Richard, and she leaves four children, Mary Ann Love Malinconico, Nancy Love Weith, Jane Love and Tom Love, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She will be interred at sea. Funeral Home: Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road Darien, CT USA 06820
