Obituary of Marjorie Tyler Hazzard

Marjorie T. Hazzard, a longtime resident of Rowayton and Norwalk, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Norwalk Hospital. Born on April 3, 1928 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Johnson and Katherine (Pauley) Tyler. She was 86. Margie enjoyed working at Greenberg's Department Store in Norwalk and later became a stay at home Mom while working part-time as a crossing guard for the Norwalk Police Department. Margie enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends. She had a love for Harley Davidsons, cooking, crocheting, gardening and watching Law & Order SVU. You could always find Margie catching some rays outside. She is survived by her three children, Norman "Hap" Hazzard of Norwalk; Katherine Seymour and her husband Taylor of Bethel; Lola Sweeney and her husband John of Norwalk and four grandchildren, Jason Seymour and his wife Jenna of Massachusetts; Jennifer McCann and her husband Chris of Bethel and Lauren Sweeney and J.C. Sweeney both of Norwalk. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Lily, Ava, Capri and Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman, in 2004. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT. A service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
