Marsha Jerritts Obituary

Marsha Carol Jerritts of Darien, Connecticut, passed away on April 5, 2023, at the age of 72. She was born on October 16, 1950, in Johnson City, New York. She was the first born of 3 children by parents Audrey Virginia & Stephen G. Jerritts. At the age of 10, Marsha traveled by ship with her family to live 3 years in Montevideo, Uruguay. Upon returning to the States, they resided in Stamford, Connecticut. Marsha also traveled to Europe visiting France, Spain, Greece & Austria. Later, she graduated from Flagler College with a BA in Elementary education. She graduated from college & worked her entire life. Handicapped, legally blind, and bound by a wheelchair, Marsha endured more life struggles than anyone I know. Her inner strength to cope with struggles was a testimony to her faith and belief in God. She was a beacon of strength for others. In Marsha's greatest trials, our mother, Audrey, asked her: How do you live with your situation? Marsha replied, "When I think I cannot bear it any longer, I Pray to Jesus and find peace." Marsha is survived by her brother, Bob S. Jerritts, Sister, Linda J Douglas. Marsha's greatest treasure was her relationship with Jesus, family & friends. As requested, Marsha will be buried next to her maternal grandparents, Alice & Paul Smith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Hook, N.Y. (near the Hudson River.). In lieu of flowers etc., donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 42 Cross Rd, Stamford, Ct. 06905, where funeral arrangements are being made.
