RUDNER-Oscar C. of Darien, CT formerly of Dorset, VT and Little Silver, NJ, died peacefully with his loving children by his side on April 18, 2008. He was the son of Oscar and Mary Rudner of Lansford, PA. He was the loving husband of the late Brenda L. Rudner. He was the most devoted father to Christopher C. Rudner (deceased), Robert V. Rudner II, Stephen C. Rudner, Curtis S. Taylor, Nancy L. Taylor-Wing, Margaret T. McManus, and David F. Taylor. He is survived by six grandchildren and three nieces and nephews. He was also the husband of the late Anna Louise Campbell Jeffers of Lincroft, NJ, and the late Miriam Cornish Fitzhugh of Little Rock, AR. Mr. Rudner graduated high school in Lansford, PA, went on to serve his country in WWII in the ETO, attaining the rank of Major. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and two Combat Infantry Badges. After the war, he enjoyed a successful career in the textile industry. His immediate family gathered at graveside at the Dellwood Cemetery in Manchester, VT to honor the memory of his long and fruitful life. In lieu of flowers, his family encourages consideration of memorial gifts to the World War II Veterans Committee of the American Veterans Center.
