Anthony "Sonny" Tuccinardi, 85, a lifelong resident of Darien, died in Cape Coral, FL on Monday, May 12, 2008 following a short illness. He was born in 1922 in North Branford, CT.

Anthony served with the U.S. Army as Military Policeman in Tunis, North Africa during World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator for numerous companies in Darien and throughout the state of Connecticut. He was a long time member of the Piedmont Club. A kind and gentle man with a quick wit, he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

His is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Tuccinardi of Cape Coral, FL; Elizabeth Schepis of Stony Point, NY; Sharon Marinozzi of New City, NY; and Jacqueline Liszak of Cape Coral, FL. Four siblings, Phyllis Pagano and Yolanda Mafucci both of Darien and Albert Tuccinardi of Glendale, AZ and Dominic Tuccinardi of Silver Springs, MD also survive. He has eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Anthony was predeceased by his brothers Pasquale "Pat" Tuccinardi, Jerome "Jerry" Tuccinardi, Angelo "Hotch" Tuccinardi and Fredrick Tuccinardi.

Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 11:30 AM. Intermetn will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
