Obituary of Joan Carole Sandor

Joan "Carole" Sandor, 83, of Ormond Beach, FL, a former long-time resident of Darien, CT, passed away on July 17, 2026 from complications of COVID-19.

Born September 2, 1942, in Stamford, CT, Carole was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Obuchowski. She was also preceded in death by her longtime companion, William Neff.

Carole will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Joan (Ron) Seckinger of Ormond Beach, FL and Rachel (Todd) VanHouten of Vero Beach, FL. She was a proud grandmother to Ashton Seckinger and Claudia Seckinger-Jomp. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Baker; her brother-in-law, James Baker; and her niece, Sarah Baker-Licari.

Carole valued her family and the many friendships she made throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral and burial services will be private in Darien.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Diabetes Foundation in Carole's memory.
