Both Liz and Don have been such good friends to my parents through their years in Fayetteville. Liz had just come to visit my mom after her move to Cary - such an endearing experience to her. I know my mom will dearly miss her (as well as all of us!) and my dad will be there to meet her in Heaven.

We attended high school together, she was a very nice person, definitely smart, she has gone on, and grown in whatever she achieved. My thoughts and prayers are with her family’.

Robin & I first met Liz & Don at a UNC-Chapel Hill Parents’ Council Meeting. Immediately, we were able to see Liz’s commitment to her family extended far beyond the home. As an active member of the UNC-Chapel Hill Parents’ Council, she took great pride in supporting not just her own child's journey, but in building a stronger community for all Tar Heel students and families.
Liz was the ultimate 'Carolina Mom'—not just to her own kids, but to the entire community. Meeting her through the Carolina Parents' Council showed us her tireless dedication to helping others and her passion for making the world a better place for the next generation. May God Bless Liz as we all miss her. Bill & Robin Balaban

I am friends with her daughter Liza and if the tribute to a person is the person their children become Elizabeth did a lovely job. She had enough love to include others, enough flowers to share joy, enough art and beauty to share it through hospitality and create a world where her daughter thrived and learned to pass on to others: kindness, joy, art, flowers, support of their children, reading, flexibly, love of the church, hugs for a husband and words of affirmation and support for all. May Elizabeth's memory and love be spread through her children and grand children's actions. May they find a way to seize the best and carry it close. I am so very sorry for the loss of a Elizabeth.

Liz was a wonderful human being and a true friend. Jack and I enjoyed many good times with Liz and Don, as did Les in my subsequent life. Liz and Don hurried home from the beach when Les and I told them we would marry the next day—they produced a “rehearsal dinner” that was a perfect celebration. Liz will be sorely missed by many. My prayers are with Don, Liza, and Leah and their dear families. Linda Clark Holden
