Obituary of Liliana Grace Vega

On March 24, 2026, shortly before 3:00 p.m., Liliana Grace Vega peacefully passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. She took her final breath in her mother’s embrace, surrounded by the deep love of her family and dear friends.

Liliana was born on June 30, 2025, to Juan and AlexisMarie Vega. From the very beginning, she showed extraordinary strength and resilience. Born prematurely, she faced significant challenges and fought courageously for every breath. What began as a single night in the NICU became weeks, then months, as she steadily grew stronger and was eventually able to go home after two months.

Following a cardiac arrest on March 6, Liliana spent her final weeks in the PICU at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she was lovingly cared for by a dedicated team of doctors and nurses. Throughout both her NICU and PICU stays, she was surrounded by compassionate caregivers who came to know and love her, supporting her every step of the way.

Liliana is survived by her loving parents, Juan and AlexisMarie Vega, and her siblings, Isabella Vega, John Vega, Lorenzo Vega, and Alexander Vega. She is predeceased by her brothers Jacob Velasco-Navarro, Luca Vega, and Lucy Vega.

Though our hearts are deeply broken, we find comfort in knowing that Liliana is now healed, whole, and at peace. She will forever remain our beautiful girl, lovingly carried in our hearts for all our days.

Funeral services for Liliana will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a service. A procession will then continue to St. John’s Cemetery in Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been established in Liliana’s honor to assist with the expenses related to her care prior to her unexpected passing, as well as funeral and related costs.
