Obituary of Steven Douglas White

Steven Douglas White of Fairfield CT died on Feb 12th, 2026 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully at home while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 4th, 1966 in Boston, Mass and was 59 years old at the time of his death. He was the son of David Elliott White and Christine Graham (nee Schmidt). The family moved to New York City when Steve was 2, then moved to Connecticut and went through the Darien School system. He received a diploma in Construction Management from NYU. In his early adult years, he lived and worked in the Greenwich & NY area.

In 2005, Steve met the love of his life, Tiziana (Tizzy) Russo. They married 2 years later and moved to Fairfield, and welcomed their son, Alexander in 2009.

Steve worked his entire life in construction, culminating in opening his own remodeling business in 2018. In addition to his work, Steve's true passions were music and the New York Giants. He was a bassist with several local bands, many of which he helped form. Steve spent his lifetime attending Giants games, and was an ardent fan no matter how successful the season may have been. These two passions were inherited from his father and passed down to his son. Steve and Alexander were always very close and when Alexander started scouting, he decided to volunteer. He eventually became Scout Master for Troop 199. His impact on the scouting community was so profound that he was recognized with a special Unit Leader Award of Merit by the scouts he loved and influenced.

Along the way, Steve had an innate ability to cultivate and maintain lifelong friendships. He still has friends that go all the way back to his elementary school days.

Steve is survived by his wife, Tizzy; son, Alexander; mother, Christine; sister, Thayer White; Step-Brother, Phil Hamilton (Ann); Aunt, Julia Pine (nee White)(Patrick); and several cousins.

Steve is pre-deceased by his Father, David; Sister, Adina Azarian; Niece, Aria Azarian; and Nephew, Samuel White.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 2:00pm at St Luke's Episcopal Church, 1864 Post Road, Darien, CT, with reception at the church immediately following. Interment will be private.
