I was shocked and saddened to learn the news of Bill's passing when it reached me in far off Scotland. Bill and I joined Merrill Lynch in the same year, 1971. He soon became one of the star analysts most in demand to visit our London office. Bill became a great friend whom I always enjoyed meeting on trips to New York. Despite the distance, we kept I regular contact. Bill's warmth and caring nature will never be forgotten. I send my heartfelt condolences to his beloved family. Geoffrey Bunting

Our deepest condolences to Mary and Family. Elaine and I have been friends with Billy for over 50 years, going back to the old days in Bay Ridge. We would always talk about who the best barber was or where to get the best slice of pizza. Back then he would always say, "how's it going Brucie Baby" with a kind and thoughtful smile. He had such a thoughtful way about him and always had a kind word to share. Billy was so proud of his family and always talked about how well they are doing in work, life and family. He was one of the good guys and will be sorely missed. With Deepest Respect. Bruce and Elaine

Sincere Condolences to Mary and the Genco Family on Bill's passing. We were classmates at Xaverian high School and had numerous classes together. We reacquainted around the time of our 50th Reunion in 2015, then shared a few group dinners with other XHS Class of '65 Alums after that. Covid interrupted our regular get-togethers, but we found out through our conversations that we had a common interest in Oscawana Lake in Putnam county, since my daughter's family has a lake house there. Bill and I said many times that we would try to get together at the Lake, but unfortunately the timing wasn't quite right. I'm sorry we weren't able to connect in person, but we still shared a few emails and text messages over the last 2-3 years. bill was a sweet, gentle man, and it was my distinct pleasure to be in his company or speak with him whenever possible. He will be missed. May Bill's Soul Rest in peace. Deepest Sympathy to the Family.

I was fortunate to have Bill coach me for nearly a decade, starting when I was a newly minted senior research analyst. His wisdom was invaluable, but his friendship after I left BofAML meant even more. He truly cared about the people behind the work. I feel so lucky to have known him, and I will miss him.

Cousin Mary,John,Paul and William
We were so saddened to hear of your Dads passing. Our two favorite memories were watching your dad valiantly chasing your beautiful golden retriever around the front of your house trying to rescue your cousin Marielle's irreplaceable blankey from his happy jaws. With the blanket flying in the wind behind him , and a try and catch me look on his face, your dad did not stop until he successfully won the blanket back for Marielle. It was no easy task!
And when I think of Bill, I think of how much he and my dad, Lou, really enjoyed each other's company through the years. My dad was always happy to sit and swap stories [probably a little exaggerated] while your dad listened and chuckled along.
Bill, may you find the peace and rest you deserve now and forever more.
love,
Cousin Donna, Ronnie and Marielle
