Obituary of Louis Robert DeAngelis

Louis Robert DeAngelis, an over 20 year resident of Darien died peacefully in Connecticut on December 3rd. He was 89 years old.
Born on August 31, 1936 in New York City, Louis and his wife raised their family in Scarsdale, New York, where they resided for over 30 years. During this time, he wasmade famous amongst his children’s friends for his chocolate chip pancakes, and the many coaching roles he played throughout the years. This legacy carried on during his many years in Darien, where he continued these traditions amongst others with his grandchildren and their friends.

He was an executive in the fashion industry having served in leadership positions both in manufacturing and for one of the nation’s leading retailers. He received his
Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Iona University, then College in 1958, where he formed many life-long friendships.
Family was at the center of all that was important in his life. Louis married his high school sweetheart, Gloria in 1960 in New York City. They enjoyed a 65 year marriage.
Their life together was filled with family, friends, travel and a love of the arts and music.  Never one to shy away from a party, he loved a house filled with festivities, laughter and
story-telling.

He is survived by his wife Gloria DeAngelis, and their four children Stephen DeAngelis (Beverly Brossoie), Missy DeAngelis, Mark DeAngelis (Carmen Molinos), and Stacey
DeAngelis. He is also survived by the grandchildren that he cherished Mia Brossoie, Christian DaSilva, Caroline DaSilva, and Sebastian DeAngelis. He also leaves behind
his sister Rosemary Bradbury, who resides in Mamaroneck, New York.

A mass will be held at St. Thomas Moore Church in Darien, Connecticut on Saturday, December 6th at 10:30 am. A reception will immediately follow at Noroton Yacht Club.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in his name be made to The Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital.
