Eleanor E McGinniss Obituary

Eleanor McGinniss, 73, of Pearl River, New York, passed away peacefully in her home on October 30, 2025.


Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Thomas and Kathleen (Hannon) McGinniss, Eleanor was a proud graduate of St. Canice High School. Following her graduation, she moved to New York City, where she built a long and successful career in the financial services sector. Over the years, she held operational leadership roles at Royal Bank of Scotland, NatWest, and IDB Bank, and later provided private consulting services to clients throughout the industry.


Eleanor was known for her sharp intellect, kindness and generosity. Outside of work, she found great joy in traveling, reading, and spending time with her beloved family and friends.


She is survived by her siblings Kathleen Haddow (McGinniss) and her husband John Haddow of St. George, Utah; Thomas McGinniss of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Theresa Galloway of Jacksonville, Florida as well as dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss her deeply.


Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Thomas McGinniss of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Kathleen McGinniss (Hannon) of Portumna, County Galway, Ireland, and by her loving brother, James M. McGinniss of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.


Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820.

A funeral Mass will take place on Monday, November 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820.
