Allison A. Gallagher, 66, of Darien, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Greenwich Hospital on July 7, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 14, 1958, in Atlanta, Georgia, Allison was the daughter of the late Richard and Jeanne Serman Artis. She moved to Darien at a young age and graduated from Darien High School in 1976. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Fairfield University and later worked as a paralegal. She was a longtime member of Noroton Presbyterian Church.
Allison was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Family was her greatest joy, cherishing every moment with her children, while seamlessly stepping into the role of "Gigi" to her grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker, admired for her impeccable taste and creativity. She loved to cook and bake, and was a talented seamstress, gardener, jewelry designer and floral designer. She loved to share her talents with her children and grandchildren. She was an animal lover and cherished her beloved dogs.
Allison is survived by her four children: Emily Yates of Darien, CT, Abigail Yates of Los Angeles, CA, John Gallagher of Wilton, CT, and Allison Gallagher of Darien, CT; five grandchildren: Annabel, Charles, John, Christian and Hadley; three siblings: Susan Matthews of Germantown, TN, Jeanne Meder of Fairfield, CT, and Marilyn Jones of Fairfield, CT; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Allison will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien, CT. Services will be private. A celebration of life will take place at Weed Beach in Darien, CT on September 6, 2025, from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Betsy Corman Center for Palliative Care at Greenwich Hospital.
