Grace L Ward, 97, of Darien CT passed away peacefully on Sunday June 29, 2025 at home.

She was born on July 19, 1927 in Port Chester, NY to the late Edward and Leone (O'Rourke) Wild-Scarpa.

Grace was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years William Ward; her daughter Mary Ward, her son William J. Ward and her brother Edward Wild.

Grace and Bill owned the Post Tavern and found the most Joy in talking and laughing with her customers. She was most proud of the hundred marriages that resulted from meeting at her establishment.

Grace is survived by her son James of Winter Springs FL. She also leaves five grandchildren; Liam, Tessa, Georgie, Gianna, and Catherine. She is also survived by Nieces Sally Cohen and Jane Becker.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday July 19, 2025 at 1PM at St. Johns RC Church 1986 Post Rd in Darien followed by an urn burial at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. Following Grace's services a Celebration of life will be held at Noroton Fire Department 1873 Post Rd Darien CT.
