Donald “Poppy” Meenan, 96, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. 

Born on February 12, 1929, to Daniel and Mary Meenan, Don was raised in Bridgeport and graduated from Fairfield College Preparatory School in 1947. He later earned his degree from Arnold College before beginning a career in the trucking industry. In 1964, he married the love of his life, Rita Maher, and together they raised four children in Norwalk. While raising his children, Don began working security at Norwalk Hospital, and stayed there until he retired. A man of deep faith and unwavering devotion to his family, Don was known for his quick wit, warm smile,and the joy he brought to those around him.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Rita, his brother Jimmy, and his sister Margaret. He is survived by his four children - Christopher, Patrick, Daniel, and Kathleen, along with their families.

Don's Services will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Pop's memory with a simple act of kindness.
