Cynthia "Cindy" Musikas a Darien resident for 57 years, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on April 20,1940 in New Bedford, MA, the only child of Gilbert Russell Jr. and Mildred Shepherd Russell, she grew up in Montpelier, VT and graduated from Vermont College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. In July 1960 she met the love of her life, Harry at a beach party in Ogunquit, ME. Cindy was waitressing at a hotel during summer break and Harry was on vacation in transit to Canada exploring the coast of Maine. He never made it further than Ogunquit and they married in 1962.

Cindy worked for the Darien Chamber of Commerce for 17 years. She loved her job and because of her bubbly personality built great relationships with the local business owners. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts, The Darien Community Association and Person to Person. Cindy enjoyed spending winters on Singer Island, FL where she ran several committees at her condo, and annual summer trips to Goose Rocks Beach, ME.

Cindy is survived by her husband Harry of 63 years, daughter Holly Cliggott of Virginia and her husband Michael, Debbie Zetwick of Florida and her husband Chris, and two grandchildren, Andrew Cliggott and Alli Zetwick.

A private service will be held at St. Luke's Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Post 53 in Cindy's memory.
