With great sadness I heard of the passing of my colleague doctor Oviedo . I first met Al in July of 1973 when I arrived at Saint Francis to start my residency in surgery he was my chief resident, and then went on over the years we became partners in surgical group. He was an outstanding surgeon he was always there to help in difficult situations and offer his assistance. We retired at the same time in 2014 and I thought he could have gone few more years. We shared background of both of us came to the United States from foreign countries I was born in Damascus Syria in 1945 and also we only have girls I myself have three we considered ourselves blessed. Last time I saw Al was several years ago he was walking the West Hartford reservoir with Gloria I was so happy to see him . Rest in peace Al and god bless your soul you will be greatly missed.
