Obituary of Candice Robertson

Candice “Candie” Ann Robertson, 75, of Whispering Pines, NC passed away on January 14, 2025, at her home with
her daughters by her side.
Candice was born in New York City to Ruth & Charles “Bud” O’Keefe on May 22, 1949. She grew up on Long Island, graduating from Seton Hall high school in Patchogue, New York in 1967 before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography - Cartography from Briarcliff College. Candice enjoyed a varied and fulfilling professional career beginning as a cartographer for environmental consulting firms representing major oil companies, laterteaching tennis with Dick Gould in Palo Alto and prior to her retirement working for the Darien Board of Education for almost 20 years.
A lifelong sportswoman, Candice excelled in her younger years in swimming, softball, field hockey, and basketball. Later, she developed a passion for tennis, paddle, golf– in the 1980s, her 30s – and pickleball. Along the way, she collected varsity letters, awards, and trophies, including club championships at Silvermine Golf Club, member guest titles at Southward Ho, and prestigious wins at the Jeanne White Open.
The collection Candice valued most was her friends and family – children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Together with them she found joy in reading, opera, theatre (especially musicals), travel, the NY Times Connections puzzle and, of course, golf.
Candice is survived by her brothers Kevin, Colin, and Greg O’Keefe; daughters Lindsay (Gene) Previdi and Kelsey (Jonathan) Webster; grandchildren CJ and Pearson Previdi; and grand-dogs, Poppy and Mullen Previdi. She was predeceased by her grand-pug, Victoria Elizabeth Robertson-Webster.
Memorial services will be held at Wee Burn Country Club, in Darien, CT on Friday, February 7 at 3pm and at The Country Club of Whispering Pines in Whispering Pines, NC on Tuesday, February 11 at 2pm. Visitation will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien, CT on Thursday, February 6 from 3 to 7pm and at Boles Funeral Home in
Southern Pines, NC on Monday, February 10 from 3 to 5pm.
Memorial donations may be made to GI Immunotherapy Research Fund and Girls Golf LPGA*USGA.
