Jay was my boss in the mid 70's. He left an indelible impact on my investment career. The two best memories I have of him were, when Exxon would come in for quarterly reviews and ask his investment philosophy. His reply, I buy 'em low and sell 'em high.
The other was him making us prepare presentations for him to take home overnight. The reason?..he said if his eight year old daughter couldn't understand it, neither could a CFO/CEO. Sorry this is so late but, may he rest in peace. John James
