Obituary of Sr. M. Inez Guzman

Sr. M. Inez, born Beatriz Guzman, a Religious Sister of the Order of the Most Holy Savior of St. Birgitta, Darien, CT, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, CT. Born on June 9, 1943 in Tacambaro, Michocan, Mexico, she was the daughter of Bernardino and Luisa Guzman. She was 65. Having joined the Convent at age 14, she served in LaPaz, Mexico; Mexico City, Mexico; Rome, Italy and for the last 16 years in the Convent of St. Birgitta in Darien, CT. Always known for her caring sweetness, her smile and readiness to laugh, and her lovely, harmonious singing voice, she will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by seven brothers and sisters, all of whom reside in Mexico. The Sisters of St. Birgitta and family will receive friends at the Convent of St. Birgitta, 4 Runkenhage Road, Darien on Monday, September 22, 2008 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the Convent. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made payable to the Convent of St. Birgitta, 4 Runkenhage Road, Darien, CT 06820. All such gifts will be directly used to help needy hurricane survivors.
