Thank God for Rosemary and David Mace. Without their passing on the news of Sal's passing, many of us would never had known. What can you say about the Man that has not already been said? A gifted athlete, and a great friend growing up in our Baker school days. My deepest condolences to his family. May God grant him eternal peace. I know he will find a team to quarterback in Heaven. To the Mazzeo family: I remember Sal so well in high school; he was such a good looking young guy, great athlete and a lot of fun--always very nice to everyone. I attended the reunion at the fire station and had such a good time. Much better than a restaurant. I am so sorry for your loss and hope that family, good friends and happy memories will be of help to you all now. God bless--

It saddens me greatly to learn of Sal's passing. I have been a "bad" classmate, living overseas so much and missing our reunions, but I hold very dear the good memories of Sal from our days at DHS. He was undoubtedly the best athlete of our years there and was a warm, friendly guy who was a solid member of our little double quartet, "The Laddie Bucks". I know that Sal has been a pillar of the Darien community as well as a dedicated family man, upholding the wonderful values of a good Italian family (which are so often lacking these days). My heart goes out to all of his family in this time of terrible grief. Rest in peace, good guy.

Sal and I had been classmates since Ms. Vetter's 6th grade class at Baker School. He lived on Hollow Tree Ridge Rd. and I lived on Ridgeley St., practically in his backyard. And although we did not travel in the same circles and had little interaction, I am saddened to hear of his passing. Rest well, fellow '56er.

Dear Betty, Andrea & David, Mike & Kim, It was a pleasure to have a few visits here in Indy with Sal. We remember clearly his smile and a kind of quiet strength. I also remember him painting a little picture at Andrea's bday party, I think of a pumpkin (b/c he called you pumpkin? Something endearing like that). We know of your deep love for him and imagine him now basking on the lobster-filled beaches of heaven. Our love and prayers are with you.
