Obituary of Mildred Persico

Mildred Persico, 90, of Stamford, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Newtown Health Center surrounded by her loving family. Millie was born October 28, 1928 to Italian immigrants Angelina Cammerota and Paul Morgera. She is survived by her loving children, Louis Persico, Jr., Mary Angela (Charlie) Mangarella, Tina (Bill) Romaniello, and James Persico, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband Louis Persico Sr. who died on the same day in 2012 and 1 grandchild predeceases her. She has one surviving sibling Silvia Falco. Millie was a devoted catholic, wife, mother, and grandmother. Also, she worked extremely hard to help make ends meet for her family. Millie was born to be a mom. She took great pride in taking care of her children and her childrens children. She was known to tell everyone that her children and grandchildren were beautiful. They looked just like her. She would do anything for her family and her family always came 1st. She had an avid love of cooking/baking and being with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, music and movies. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends around the kitchen table serving dinner, having coffee and dessert. She was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren. She was always up for an adventure or to cook you a meal. It didnt matter the time or place. Millie will be tremendously missed and always remembered for her huge heart, helping others before herself, great meals and talks at the kitchen table. Her grandchildren will miss Grandmas special holiday cookies made especially for them. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint John Church, 1986 Post Road in Darien on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10am followed by a burial at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
