Janice is one if the sweetest and kindest people I have ever known. Most Monday’s we had lunch together with some other Stamford Hospital Volunteers and always had fun with one another. She was a fighter and never complained as she was treated. She was a love to so many and we shall all miss her.

I was fortunate to meet and know Janice as a Volunteer at Stamford Hospital. I volunteer at the information desk and at the old hospital this was just down the hall from Janice's office. We got to know each other through the books we read and usually spent some time on Tuesday afternoon discussing these books. We were like our own little book group. She always had a smile and even if we did not have a book to discuss Janice always made it a point each week to come and say hello to us to see how we were doing. I will definitely miss her. My condolences to her family.

To the family of one of my oldest and dearest friends! Heartfelt condolences to all of the members of her family! I am sure I need not remind you of what a beautiful and caring person she was! I quite literally, have known her all my life, ever since those formative years in St. Mary's "Sister School!" I always looked forward to commiserating with her about the good old days, and she always seemed to have a ready answer to my numerous questions about the most trivial of things. he hid her ongoing battle with her illness, very well! Again, a tribute to her sensitivity and concern for others! I'll miss you dear friend! Requiescat in pace!

Janice was an amazing person who radiated positive energy, optimism and high standards wherever she went and whatever she did. She was my colleague when we worked together at Stamford Hospital "re-creating" the volunteer program that would fit the quickly changing healthcare needs of our community for the new millennium. We loved what we did and we had fun doing it. Janice was gracious and good-humored towards all and will be remembered for always encouraging everyone to reach a bit higher for new skills, knowledge and confidence that could be gained through a volunteer experience. As a friend, she was supportive, caring and full of fun. I know she will be missed by many and remembered by all. Janice Shaskan has left this world a much better place than she found it. Bless her heart.
