Obituary of Leo W. Rogowski

Leo W. Rogowski, a longtime resident of Darien, passed away on November 28th, 2018. Born in Stamford, CT in 1917, he was the son of the late Anthony and Helen Rogowski. Leo was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, the former Sophie Gavel; a son Phillip; and brothers: William, Joseph, Edward and sisters Ann Dedura and Marion Gaieski. He is survived by his children Leon (Deirdre) of Fairfield, CT, Stephanie LaRoche of Chester, MA and Gregory (Debbie) of Livermore, CA; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his dear neighbors whose friendship, love and support he cherished. Leo served in the Army during World War II. He was a photo engraver for McCalls and Redbook magazine for 35 years and also worked for Swan Color Graphics, Litho Craft of New England and retired from Lancer Graphics. Calling hours will be at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Sunday, December 2nd from 2-4 followed by a prayer service. Friends are invited to join the family for graveside services with full military honors at St. John Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien on Monday, December 3rd at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice or the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 375 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
