Obituary of Caroline Wilson Craig

Caroline Wilson Craig, a longtime resident of Darien, died on Monday, June 30, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 25th, 1929 in Montclair, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Eleanor (Hester) Wilson. She attended St. Catherine's School in Richmond, VA and Briar Cliff Manor. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas M. Craig and their five children: Susan and Mike Hayden of Brookfield, WI, and their three children Craig, Lindsay and Mikey; Tommy and Kim Craig of Fairfield, CT and their three children, Casey, Katie and Patrick; Peter and Tina Craig of Park Hills, KY and their four children Christie, Peter, Corey and Cassidy; Cappy and Artie Waters of Darien, CT and their four children Peter, Scotty, Caylee and Robby; and Amy and Andy Dutter of Fairfield, CT and their three children Timmy, Jeff and Kyle. A brother, Bruce G. Wilson of Jupiter, FL, formerly of New Canaan, CT also survives. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Carol's passion was her family. She felt especially blessed with her 17 grandchildren. As a devoted wife and mother, Carol spent numerous hours participating with her children and husband in the swimming and diving program at the Middlesex Swim Club, with her many and close friends relaxing at the beach, celebrating annual family reunions in Vermont and in Connecticut. She enjoyed an active physical life playing tennis, golf, daily walks with friends and skiing. She volunteered at the Children's Aid Society, the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk, Inc. and her children's activities. She was also a member of the Silvermine Golf Club in Norwalk, CT. She was also a realtor in Darien at the office of William Pitt. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 from 6 pm to 9 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 9:30 am. Interment will be private.
