Obituary of Bernice Elizabeth Knudsen

Bernice Elizabeth Knudsen, 92, formerly of Darien, CT, died July 31, 2008 at her son's home in Chester, NH after a period of declining health. She was born February 11, 1916 in Springdale (Stamford), CT and was a long time resident of Darien, CT and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Darien. She was the daughter of John Greenleaf Clark Hartford and Bernice Ada Lent Hartford. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Knudsen in 2001 and by a daughter Ellen Avis Knudsen in 1950. She is survived by her four sons, Karl J. Knudsen of Chester, NH; Lt. Col. Paul J. Knudsen, USAF (Ret.) of Milford, NH; Rev. Joel D. Knudsen of Rochester, MA and Philip D. Knudsen of Northboro, MA; and 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Burial will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford, CT. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 988 Post Road, Darien, CT with the Rev. Anthony Gibson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 988 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820. The Edward Lawrence Funeral Home of Darien is handling the arrangements.
