Obituary of Douglas MacLean Young

DOUGLAS MacLEAN YOUNG After a five year battle with Alzheimer's disease, Doug died peacefully last Friday, August 29, 2008. Born in Toronto, Ontario on February 9, 1927, Doug leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Young whom he met and began dating in high school in Montreal, Quebec. Doug will be missed by his son Glenn Young and grandson Brandon of Chicago, his daughter Nancy and grandchildren Elizabeth and Alexander Ourricariet of San Jose, and by his sister Beverly Robson of Toronto. While Doug was employed as Sales VP, Consolidated Bathurst (newsprint), the Young's lived in Montreal, Chicago and London before settling in Darien. During his life Doug loved the sea, enjoyed traveling abroad and touring on his bike, kept up with current events and politics, and was a great cook. Doug's ashes will be sprinkled on Long Island Sound, his favorite local destination. There are no calling hours.
