Obituary of David Spencer Reid

David Spencer Reid is survived by his loving wife of 58 years and childhood sweetheart, Jeanne, his two sisters Marge Upright and Jean Cavanaugh. He is also survived by his three children; Colleen Beth Quigley and her husband David of Campbell Hall, NY, James David of Portsmouth, NH and Kathleen Marie Melahn and her husband Michael of Ridgefield, CT; eleven loving grandchildren Brittany, Lindy, Shannon, Ryan, David, Katie, Kacey, Kiernan, Mikayla, David, and Michael; many nieces and nephews and two great grandchildren Caden and Skylar. David is predeceased by his son Eugene Joseph. David served as a Staff Sergeant Field Artillery in both WWII and the Korean War. He was a past President of Connecticut Tree Protection Association, a member of Stamford Fish and Game Club which he served as the treasurer of for many years and a volunteer at Smith House of Stamford. David was born in Newburgh, NY and grew up in Stamford, CT where he was a resident for 80 years. David died peacefully on November 11th surrounded by his loving wife and three children. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. John R.C.
