He trained to become a master clock and watchmaker and achieved distinction as a fellow of The British Horological Institute. After starting his own business, he married his high school sweetheart and moved with her to Flushing, NY to pursue his education and career in the US. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics from Queens College and later returned to school to attain his MBA from the University of Connecticut in Management. His career soon included positions at Bulova Watch Company and subsequently NASA, where he was responsible for the Accutron timing devices on the successful Apollo 11 mission to the moon. He then managed divisions at both American Cystoscope Makers, Inc. in Stamford, and Phillips Medical Corp. in Shelton. He most recently owned his own business in Norwalk, which he ran for almost 20 years and retired from in 2006.

He was a classic car aficionado and enjoyed going to car shows throughout New England. He spent the last 4 years of his life thoroughly enjoying his two grandsons who lived close by. He was very active in their lives but was hampered by an ever increasing medical schedule which eventually enveloped his life.
