Obituary of Ann H. Fondu

Ann H. Fondu, a 25 year resident of Darien and a former 25 year resident of Stamford, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Stamford Hospital. Born in 1916 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Ellen Higgins. She was 92. Ann was a former long time employee of VNA of Stamford. She was a member of St. Thomas More R.C. Church in Darien and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Holmes School, St. Joseph Hospital, Society of the Blind and Queen of Clergy,. Ann was a devoted mother to her five children who survive her, Ken P. Fondu and his wife Lynn of Wolcott, CT; Ellen F. Goggin and her husband Edward of Stony Point, NY; Warren H. Fondu and his wife Jayne of Norwalk, CT; Henry A. Fondu, Jr. and his wife Karen of Katonah, NY and Susan Fondu Zavatsky and her husband John of Stamford. She was also a devoted grandmother to 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Henry A. Fondu. Friends may call the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Rev.
