Obituary of Antonia (Toni) Lamendola

Antonia (Toni) Lamendola, a long time resident of Brooklyn, NY and Lewisburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Kramm Healthcare Center in Milton, PA. Born in 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Rotella) Mauro. She was 72. Toni graduated from Eastern District High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1954. She retired in 1965 after 10 years as an executive secretary with Diamond International Corporation in New York City. She later worked in her husband's chiropractic office. She was an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers (then later, the New York Mets), and the New York Football Giants. She was able to attend Super Bowls XXI and XXXV. Her other interests included traveling, playing cards and taking care of her family. She was a long time member of Saint Aloysius Church in Ridgewood, NY and later Sacred Heart Church in Lewisburg, PA. She is survived by her son, John Lamendola and his wife Kimberly A. Benedetto-Lamendola of Darien and three grandchildren, R.J., Jordan B. Irizarry and Anthony S. Lamendola. She is also survived one niece and three nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 2005, Dr. Charles H. Lamendola; her sister, Janet M. Lombardo in 2006 and her brother Dominic Mauro in 1928. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Cameron Engine Company, P.
