Obituary of Jeanne A. McInnes

Jeanne A. McInnes, a 35-year resident of Darien, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Stamford Hospital. Born in 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edna O'Hea and George McInnes. She was 83. Jeanne accelerated through college during World War II, graduating at age 19 from Syracuse University with a BS degree in Business Administration. She worked for Time/Life, Inc. in New York City for many years, and subsequently for CBS Magazines in Greenwich and the Darien Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Time/Life Alumni Club of New York through which she often travelled. An avid reader, she enjoyed membership in her Book Club and volunteering at the Darien Library. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Darien and the Friends of the Darien Library. She is survived by two cousins, Donald Freud of Atlanta, GA. and Nancy Freud Harring of Severna Park, MD and two God children., Kylie and Brock Tillotson of Laguna Hills, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Darien, 14 Brookside Road, Darien on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien is handling the arrangements.
