Obituary of Julia L. Stevenson

Julia L. Stevenson, a 48 years resident of Darien, CT, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Rosenthal Hospice in Stamford, CT. Born in 1930 in New York, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Loyd and Helen Dinsmore Loyd. Julia graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree and received her Master’s degree in Medical Illustration from Johns Hopkins University. She was a long time member of Noroton Presbyterian Church and a former Deacon and Elder. She was also an active member of the DCA; the New Canaan YMCA and the Darien YWCA. She volunteered at Children’s Aid. She was a long time member of Noroton Yacht Club. She is survived by her four children, Peter B. Stevenson of New York City, NY; Andrew C. Stevenson of Phoenix, AZ; Bonnie Sparrow of East Freetown, MA and Sandra S. Norelli of Darien, CT; and four grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Erickson of Hilton Head, SC and Margaret Class of Huntington Beach, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, P. O. Box 3401, Darien, CT 06820.
