Obituary of Marilyn Hirschhorn Bonoff

Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bonoff, Marilyn Hirschhorn age 71 of Stamford on January 19th passed away suddenly. She was born in Brooklyn and was the loving wife of the late Robert Harris Bonoff. Marilyn was the mother of Adam Bonoff of Stratford, CT and Neil Erik Bonoff of Pompano Beach, FL. She leaves behind Allison her daughter-in-law as well as Abigail her granddaughter. She will also be greatly missed by nieces Pamela Hirschhorn, Brooke Weinberg, and nephew Andrew Hirschhorn all of Long Island. Marilyn was a passionate person, a proud liberal, a very generous and loyal friend to many. She was a doer and she was most happy when she had a lot of activities and people around. She took up many causes during her life, was very charitable, and cared very much for the underdog. Marilyn grew up in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn and received an Associates degree from Queens College. She held many jobs during her life as well as being a mother; she was a bookkeeper and finally worked as an independent decorator for almost 30 years in Stamford. She was President of the PTA in Springdale when her kids were young. She was very interested in Jewish culture and causes, and was extremely proud to be Jewish and loved being involved with the Fellowship for Jewish Learning where she was a past President, as well as being very active in the Jewish Historical Society in Stamford. She was married to Robert for 48 years until his death. They were very happy together, sharing many of the same interests. She had a good sense of humor, loved tennis and the theatre. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her well. There will be a service beginning at 11am on Sunday the 24th at the Friends Meeting House at 572 Roxbury Rd in Stamford, followed by burial at the Long Ridge Union Cemetery on Erskine Rd in Stamford, followed by a get together at her home at 99 Tower Ave in Stamford. Funeral Home: Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road Darien, CT USA 06820
