Obituary of Teresa Ferrer Winter

BELOVED MOTHER OF CLARK, CRISTINA AND PHILIP WIFE OF CLARK B. WINTER, JR. In June of 2004, Tere received the remarkable gift of a double lung transplant. Her awareness and gratitude for the joy of life remains an inspiration for all. She passed away at home on May 11 surrounded by her family after a few months of complications. Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Tere attended Colegio Sagrado Corazn and later earned her nursing degree at the University of Barcelona. In 1983, she married Clark and moved to Manhattan where she lived for 15 years. She moved to Darien in 1996 where she became well known for her devotion to family and friends. Teresa Ferrer Winter was the daughter of Maria Carmen Fisas Mulleras and the late Manuel Ferrer Batlles, and sister of Victoria, Marta, Carmen, Alejandra and Adriana Ferrer Fisas of Barcelona. She is also survived by her caring American family; Elizabeth & John Lane, Duncan & Delphine Winter, Schuyler & Patricia Winter and 21 nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic. A funeral service was held at St. Luke's Church on Saturday, May 15. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Teresa Winter Fund at the Lung Transplant Program, Columbia Presbyterian, 622 W. 168th, PH 14-104, New York, NY 10032.
