Obituary of Robert F. D'Aquila

Robert F. D'Aquila, a resident of Stamford, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Stamford. Born on January 3, 1954 in Stamford, he was the son of Arline (D'Apice) D'Aquila of Darien and the late Louis D'Aquila. He was 56.
Robert graduated from Darien High School, received his bachelor's degree in math from Central Connecticut State University and a master's degree in math and computer science from Iona College.
Robert served as principal of Trinity Catholic High School since 2003. He started at Trinity in 1976 teaching math. He became head of the school's math department and in 1997 was named assistant principal.
He was a parishioner of St. John R.C. Church in Noroton Heights; a member of the Associated Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut and served on the Board of the CIAC Girls Basketball Committee.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary McCabe D'Aquila of Stamford; a daughter, Kathleen M. D'Aquila of Vermont and a son, John L. D'Aquila of Stamford. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Ellen Lehmann and her husband Ken of Fairfield, CT; two brothers, Daniel D'Aquila and his wife Joan of Lower Merion, PA and John D'Aquila and his wife Ann of York, ME. He is also survived by his aunt Mildred D'Apice of Meriden, CT and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R. C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private.
