Bertha E. Scott, a life long resident of Stamford, CT and most recently a resident at Stone Ridge in Mystic, CT, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Stone Ridge in Mystic, CT. Born on May 26, 1924 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Olga Fitz and Frederick Pantel. She was 86. Bertha graduated from Stamford High School in 1942. She worked for 57 years as a supervisor of accounts receivable for Bartlett Tree Experts. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Niantic, CT; AARP in Darien, CT and the Darien Senior Center. She is survived by three cousins, Judy Buchs of Niantic, CT; Audrey and Corey Barrette of Monroe, CT; and Amy and Patrick Brintle of Farmington, CT. She was predeceased by her sister, Martha Pantel. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Seaside Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
