I knew Nariman since we were both 7 years old. We both studied in the same school and lived in the same locality. He was my dear and sincere childhood friend and I will miss him immensely. My wife and I have very fond memories of him. He was a source of inspirtation to us all. He had an excellent sholastic record. He was the School Captain and stood first in school. He was a well organized and disciplined person. A man with a great mind and an equally great and caring heart-true to his family and friends. May God receive and keep his spirit and give him his just reward. Amen!

Heard of Nari before I got to know / meet him. Grandfather - Jal P Cassad, spoke kindly of his bright nephew, as someone balanced, respecful and humble. Met him for the first time at American Express in 1992 and found him very much the person described - warm, self effacing and one of keen intellect. Since then to now, met Nari seldom, but for certain each meeting including the emails reporting the state of self health, left one with the perspective he was "real" and "realistic". Travelled in May 2000 with Nari and Dhun, from NJ to Ohio and back, with the speedometer stubbornly refusing to go beyond the prescribed speed limit. Immediately on arrival ( 8 hour ride), the sadra and garments were neatly packed back, into a small carry bag and a fresh set of clothes put on, with no change in physical or mental energy, almost as though the travel never happened, and the travel like the journey of life, being the joyous part, the destination - incidental. May the lord bless your soul Nari, and may he shower his strength and blessings on Dhan, Cyrus, Shireen, Maureen and the extended family Prema & Rushad Cassad

Dear Dhun and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this great loss in your lives. Having known you and Nari for more than 40 years, we share your grief of his passing with you. We will always remember Nari as a thoughtful, compassionate and kind person who always had a funny (mostly 'koyla') story to tell. We will all miss his jokes. We were also very impressed by Nari's positive and upbeat attitude in dealing with his illness. We are particularly grateful to Nari for taking Zal under his wing during his summer apprenticeship at American Express. Zal has many good memories of the times he spent with Nari. God bless you and may Nari's soul rest in peace. All our love, Yaz (Billy) and Firoza (Fi)

Dear Dhun,Shirin,Cyrus and Maureen, Iam really happy that I called up and spoke to dear Nari on last wednesday, little knowing that the end was so near. Even in the condition he must have been in my sweet friend was telling me to keep well and take care of my health.I have yet to meet a more considerate and caring person than him.God give you all courage to bear this blow. When I came from Visakhapatnam to Bombay in January 1961, as a gawky small town boy, it was Nari who took me under his wing and gave me the inputs of living life in a mega city. There was no dearth of 'koyla' jokes and wisecracks between the two of us and even though he left Xavier's and joined IIT, within a few months, our contacts continued for years.Iam glad that providence gave us the opportunity to meet again this year and share a few good days together. "Farewell, my friend and wherever you have gone be happy and pain free.Someday we shall meet again in the Great Beyond and if,by chance you meet Mahrukh, tell her I still love her and think of her."

Dear Dhun, Shireen, Cyrus and Maureen: I still cannot get used to the idea that Nari is no longer with us. When you know a person as long as I knew Nari, it is hard to imagine that you no longer have a friend who truly cares, and who you could always depend on. Nari and I were together from pre-school, all the way through college and then as roommates at MIT. We married around the same time, had children, and took vacations together. So many memories over so many years I still keep remembering every day. How I wish I could have spent just one hour talking to him -- there was so much I wanted to share with him, so much I wanted to learn from him. I have learnt not to wait until it's too late. God bless you, Nari. You suffer no more, and are now at peace. Until we meet again, my dear friend......
