George Edward Just Obituary
George Edward Just, a resident of Norwalk and a former long time resident of Darien, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in 1922 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Carl L. and Winifred (Connor) Just. He was 85.
George served with the 8th Army Air Force during World War II. He was a past commander of the American Legion #3 in Stamford. He was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross blood mobile drives; a parishioner of St. John R.C. Church in Darien and a member of the choir; and a LT in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corp. George worked for Pitney Bowes for 46 years as a Standards Engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 plus years, Marjorie (Noyd) Just of Norwalk; two sons, Kevin and his wife Cheryl of Ridgefield, CT; Brian and his wife Carol of North Branford, CT; and one daughter, Kathleen Schroeder and her husband Robert of Naugatuck, CT. He is also survived by six grand children and two great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by one brother, Carl F. Just.
Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Burial with full military honors will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
