Obituary of Ruth C. Miller

Ruth C. Miller, 86, beloved wife of the late Robert E. Miller Sr., died in the early morning of March 13th, 2008 after a brief illness at the Masonic Nursing Home in Wallingford, CT. Ruth was born in New York City on November 8th, 1921, moving to Stamford, CT as a child. She was the daughter of Valentine and Caroline Maurer. Ruth and her late husband were the proprietors of Bob's Diner on Glenbrook Road for 44 years before retiring. Ruth was very active in Rosemary Chapter #85, Order of the Eastern Star serving as secretary of the Chapter for many years and Past Worthy Matron 1961-1962. She was also a member of Friendship Court #23 of Amaranth and a member of Purity Shrine Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem. Ruth is survived by her three sons, Robert, Peter and Thomas; daughter-in-laws, Jacquelyn and Corrine; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Burial at Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford immediately after the service.
