Charlotte Lillian Pivarnik (Montlick), passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home in Fairfield, CT. Born December 21, 1942 at Stamford Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Lillian (Gartrell) and Louis Montlick of Darien. She was 78. Charlotte graduated from Darien High School in 1960. She was involved in the Nash Drum Corps for over 30 years, a member of the Darien Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for 59 years and enjoyed bowling with her mother on the Darien Fire Department Auxiliary team for years. She was employed by MBI, Inc. of Norwalk for over 40 years. Charlotte worked part time during her school years at Palmer’s Market, a local bakery, an auto sales shop in Darien. She was an animal lover and through her years she always had a cat and a dog. At a young age she also had a white rabbit and a Bantam chicken. Charlotte loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed time spent at the beach in the summer especially family trips to LBI, NJ. She was always quick witted and had a joke to share. She also loved watching her granddaughters grow into beautiful ladies and was so proud of the wonderful young men her grandsons were becoming. She would love to brag about what they were doing, from nursing, to overcoming obstacles, to football, to horseback riding, to being class president, to dance. She looked forward to the Big E every year from the 1950’s through 2019. In recent years, she accompanied by her niece Karen and spent the whole day from opening to closing. They also attended the 4 Town Fair in Somers, CT each year. She also enjoyed spending with brother and sister-in-law at the casino. She particularly loved to travel and got joy in sharing family trips to Salisbury Beach, Lake Winnepasauke and Old Orchard Beach. Charlotte would look forward to family visits from Kansas and adventuring out to visit them. Charlotte was always active and a loving and giving person throughout her life. In her early years, she was a talented baton twirler winning competitions in New England. She continued her twirling as the lead drum majorette in the Nash Drum Corps. Her entire family became members of Nash as a result of her participation performing in many parades. She began downhill skiing in 1951 with her parents and siblings, Bob and Jim, and continued skiing later with her late husband and children. Charlotte enjoyed motorcycle touring with her husband and brothers and parents before starting a family of her own. She was an avid boater, both motorboats and small sail boats. Family camping was one of her favorite activities with her family, especially at Hammonasset State Park. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Alan J. Pivarnik, Sr., who she married in June of 1965 and her eldest son Alan, Jr. She is survived by two sons, Clinton Pivarnik (Kristie) of Wichita, KS and Samuel Pivarnik (Patricia) of Stratford, CT and a daughter, Linda Pivarnik (Maureen) of Hamden, CT; and her grandchildren Jessica, Curtis, Colby, Taylor, Sydney and Kaylee. She is also survived by her brothers Robert Montlick of Norwalk and James Montlick of Vernon, a brother-in-law William Pivarnik (Barbara) of Virginia, sister-in-law Kathleen Wood (Charles) of Vermont and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A private family service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021. A graveside service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
